My rule is simple: if a deal on DIY maintenance feels rushed, vague, or unusually cheap, I slow down. Clear communication, recent photos, and realistic pricing matter more than a flashy title.

Has anyone here found a good way to verify listings before meeting up?

From a seller side, threads like this help because buyers often want the same things: honest condition notes, transparent pricing, and a quick answer to common questions about DIY maintenance.

Members who have sold successfully should share what kind of titles and descriptions got the best response.

I think this topic could become a strong evergreen thread for Auto Parts, Repairs & Maintenance. Searchers usually want practical advice, not generic tips.

It would be useful to hear what red flags, paperwork, testing steps, or negotiation tactics people actually use with DIY maintenance.
