Puss In Boots: The Last Wish is Coming to Peacock

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will be streaming exclusively on Peacock! Deadline reports the film will start streaming on the platform on Mar. 10. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is the latest film from DreamWorks Animation to join the platform, following the Shrek films and some DreamWorks favorites like Trolls World Tour and The Croods.

Helmed by Joel Crawford and released in 2022, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is set after the 2010 film Shrek Forever After. The film follows the journey of Puss in Boots as he discovers his passion for danger with the disregard for safety, which will eventually take its toll. Led by Antonio Banderas, the ensemble cast also includes Salma Hayek, Florence Pugh, Harvey Guillen, Olivia Colman, John Mulaney, Samson Kayo, and Wagner Moura.

Released just ahead of Christmas last Dec. 21, the film enjoyed the Holiday season since it’s the only family film to hit the theaters in the winter months. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish grossed over $444 million at the worldwide box office. The film also topped the charts on Premium Video On Demand for several weeks in January and remained in the Top 10 on iTunes.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is An Academy Award Nominated Film
Aside from the box office achievements of the film, it also earned an Academy Award Nomination for Best Animated Feature, and it will be up against Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, The Sea Beast, and Turning Red. The results will be out on Mar. 12 on The Academy Awards Night.

The film starts with Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots narrating the story of a shooting star that fell from the sky and landed in an unknown place. He then stated that the mythical shooting star could grant a single wish for someone worthy. Unfortunately, the daring feline just lost his eighth life, and he’s onto his last one, so he is eager to find the shooting star to help bring his previous lives back. Joining him on his journey is his former partner Salma Hayek’s Kitty Softpaws and Harvey Guillén’s Perrito. As the trio heads to find the star, they find themselves in an adventure as other star hunters get in their way.

The official synopsis reads: “When Puss in Boots discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll, and he has burned through eight of his nine lives, he launches an epic journey to restore them by finding the mythical Last Wish.”

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will start streaming on Peacock this Mar. 10.
